Our Digital News Editor will lead the most dynamic and innovative news team in the community, helping them report news that is beneficial, entertaining and relevant. With an ever changing digital environment, our Digital News Editor will have the opportunity to create content that is not only useful to our readers but becomes a part of their daily habit.
Your Role:
- Report and create original content for the site.
- Manage the all platforms that help to promote the branding of the site with the goal of building users, including social media, newsletters, text etc
- Manage the news covered by our journalists, making sure the events and news we cover are the most relevant and beneficial to our readers.
- Help to grow Clarksvilllenow.com’s unique users, creating a community of readers that make us a habit.
- Be collaborative with our radio stations and their broadcast news, using all products in our platform to promote each other.
- Work closely with our sales manager to create sales opportunities that will help the site grow in revenue.
- Be invested in the success of the community.
Your Qualifications:
- An Entrepreneurial spirit with drive.
- A strong leader who can successfully manage journalism staff.
- Must be comfortable in the spotlight as a community leader, not just someone watching from the sidelines.
- Experience in digital news platforms, using tools and other resources available to engage our readers.
- Comfortable with change. You must be an innovator, someone who stays on top of the newest digital trends and opportunities.
- The creative ability to turn the resources available on the site to solid revenue.
- Experience recruiting, managing and motivating a successful journalist team.
- Understanding of Copyright and libel law.
- A news judgment, the ability to understand what the readers what and what drives them to the news site.
- Be flexible to work from anywhere any time. We never know when news will happen.
- Bull-doggish reporting instincts and a willingness to ask the tough questions of important people.
- Photoshop skills are a plus.
